The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency reported it is alarmed regarding the superior number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The support place created for intervention experiences a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard for that Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources website to enable the servicing of all customers and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
